In a unique blend of conservation and education, Delhi’s Yamuna Biodiversity Park has launched an urban beekeeping initiative along with a pollinator demonstration garden. The park now houses multiple native beehives, pollinator-friendly plants, and interpretive signboards. Students and visitors learn about pollination, native bees, and ecological interdependence. Honey collected is sold under a “Clean Yamuna” label, and proceeds fund local green initiatives. Scientists monitor changes in plant diversity and bee behavior. This living exhibit promotes urban ecological awareness while supporting declining pollinator populations and reintroducing traditional apiary knowledge to urban residents.
